JNBY 江南布衣携手融设计图书馆打造「布尽其用五周年特别展」，落地杭州天目里目里空间，是品牌持续五年传统织物田野研究项目的成果集中呈现。项目历史背景根植于可持续时尚与民艺活化的行业趋势，许多传统织造技艺散落在中国不同地域，面临记录断层、脱离当代生活的困境；江南布衣联合融设计图书馆深入多地田野调研，系统性采集织物标本、记录工艺脉络，本次特展把长达五年的材料研究从幕后研发搬到公共展厅，探索传统织物在现代时装体系里的转化路径。在空间造型与制作层面，展览由异语同织、织言片语、织舆回文三大展厅形成完整叙事线，围绕交错编织、套锁编织、传统印染、衲绣、扣合五大工艺主题铺陈内容。

展区陈列约 600 件织物解构样片、老布标本与手工工具，展品涵盖蜀锦联珠纹花本、乌朵、紫花棉、牦牛绒，以及苗族、白裤瑶织绣遗存。展厅设计摒弃传统静态文物陈列柜的刻板形式，从一根丝线作为叙事起点，层层拆解布料从原料、织造、染色到缝缀扣合的完整生产链条，让观众直观看见民间织造技艺的底层逻辑，理解传统工艺如何转化为当代服饰设计，践行「让传统织物回归日常」的核心理念。

JNBY partners with Design Library to launch the 5th Anniversary Special Exhibition of Make Full Use of Cloth at Mili Space, Tianmuli in Hangzhou. It showcases outcomes of a five-year field research program on traditional textiles. Historically, sustainable fashion and folk craft revitalization have become important industry trends. Many traditional weaving techniques scattered across China face risks of incomplete documentation and separation from modern daily life. JNBY and Design Library conducted extensive field research, systematically collecting textile specimens and documenting craft heritage.

This exhibition brings five years of material research from behind-the-scenes R&D into public galleries and explores how traditional fabrics can be transformed within contemporary fashion systems. In terms of spatial design and fabrication, the exhibition forms a narrative journey through three galleries: Weaving Across Languages, Fragments of Weaving Words and Weaving Palindrome. It revolves around five core craft themes: interlaced weaving, loop weaving, traditional dyeing, patch embroidery and fastening techniques. Around 600 deconstructed textile samples, vintage fabric specimens and hand tools are on display, including Shu brocade lotus pattern jacquard cards, wuduo, purple-flower cotton, yak wool, plus weaving and embroidery relics from Miao and Baiku Yao ethnic groups. Moving beyond rigid display cabinets for cultural relics, the space starts storytelling from a single thread, unpacking the whole production chain from raw fiber, weaving, dyeing to stitching and fastening. Visitors can directly observe the underlying logic of folk weaving craftsmanship and understand how heritage crafts are adapted into modern apparel design, practicing the core idea of “bringing traditional textiles back to daily life”.

On-site experience and marketing communications are closely integrated. As Hangzhou’s landmark for art and culture, Tianmuli attracts design professionals and art lovers. The rich fabric textures and specimen matrix deliver strong aesthetic quality, suitable for cultural KOLs and visitors to create photos and short videos for social media to spread folk art value. Breaking the commodity-focused logic of ordinary commercial brand exhibitions, this project builds a bridge between traditional handcraft and modern fashion.
