TORRAS’s first slow pop-up store is located at Gate M West Bund Dream Center, Shanghai. Soft opening starts on October 16, with official launch on October 23. Centered on the theme of riverside departure, it draws on West Bund’s historic harbour memory as the brand’s first physical offline hub. Originating as an online digital accessory brand, TORRAS specialises in phone cases, magnetic stands, fast chargers and screen protectors, previously communicated largely through e-commerce specs and performance reviews.
Moving beyond straightforward retail, this pop-up embeds technical gadgets within the urban waterfront roaming scene, translating hardware functionality into a tangible lifestyle proposition. The design borrows porthole motifs from harbour cabins, anchored by TORRAS signature vibrant orange, clear glass and brushed silver metal. Circular window frames act as natural viewfinders framing the river and industrial skyline. Zones include screen-protector challenge station, magnetic stand testing bench, low-temperature charging sensory area, scent lounge and limited retail corner. Solid partitions are minimised to preserve visual permeability and the open waterfront rhythm, while circular forms echo the rotating, adjustable logic of its stand products.
Built with lightweight modular lacquered frames, ultra-clear glass and soft diffused lighting, the installation meets mall safety standards and supports fast assembly and dismantling. Crisp metal and transparent glass contrast sharply with saturated brand orange, balancing technological sharpness with approachable warmth. Displays are intentionally uncluttered for hands-on testing of drop resistance, magnetic attachment and temperature-controlled charging, engineered for both product validation and social capture. On-site activations feature screen-film challenges, device trials, scent experiences and West Bund exclusive gifts, designed as a casual stop along city walking routes.
Programming and marketing are tightly synchronised: pre-released porthole visuals and demo clips target digital fans, tech creators and waterfront visitors. The framed river views are highly shareable on Xiaohongshu and short-video platforms. Hands-on experience compensates for sensory limits of online shopping, closing the loop of pre-booking, functional trial, organic UGC and conversion.
This milestone anchors TORRAS’s evolution from an online accessory brand toward a lifestyle label. It shifts communication away from technical parameters toward scene-driven emotional connection, leveraging West Bund’s cultural cachet to carve a new template for 3C pop-ups that merge technical demonstration, aesthetic expression and local urban context.
