(A Night on Earth, The Finale)在进博会迎来中国首发。

The 9th China International Import Expo took place from 5 to 10 November 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, with the food and agricultural products section spread across halls 7.1H, 8.1H and 8.2H. Edrington returned for a sixth consecutive year, bringing three Scotch single malt brands: The Macallan, Highland Park from Orkney, and The Glenrothes. Founded in 1861 and present in China since 2000, the group has spent more than two decades assembling three origins and three temperaments under one roof. A national platform of this scale gives it a rare chance to explain that line-up in a single visit.

Rather than lining the three brands up as a shelf, the stand gave each one an immersive space shaped around the character of its origin. The Macallan opened with its name and the idea of craft beyond craftsmanship; Highland Park was summed up in the line "different by nature"; The Glenrothes put its founding year, 1879, at the front and followed it with "the art of time". The spaces sit side by side yet read as separate chapters, so a walk around the stand moves from a Speyside estate to an Orkney island and on to another, slower distillery. Tastings and masterclasses ran through the six days, separating flavour, process and brand story so that three sets of language did not talk over one another.

The exhibits were arranged in three layers: core age statements, rare high-age reserves, and creative new releases. The Macallan brought its core range, the M Collection and TIME: SPACE Sherry Cask, laying out the sherry oak chain that defines the house, from seasoning casks with sherry in Jerez, Spain, to long maturation in Speyside, where the whisky takes its natural colour and signature flavour. Highland Park has distilled at a single site in Kirkwall, Orkney, for 228 years, and heather-rich peat gives it a flavour base that cannot be reproduced elsewhere; the booth showed a 54-year-old, Between You & I #2, Cask Strength: Heather and Sherry Skies 19. Cask Strength: Heather is made from barley smoked entirely with Orkney heather peat and won double gold at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The Glenrothes presented 15, 18, 25, 32 and 40 year olds, with 6.5-metre stills and long distillation expressed across different stages of maturation; its 18 and 25 year olds took double gold in San Francisco in 2026, the third consecutive year of that result and a platinum certification, while the 15 year old took gold. The brand also collaborated with Chinese writer and artist Jin Yucheng on a visual project that brings an Eastern eye to the packaging, part of a longer effort to connect single malt with local aesthetics rather than treat China purely as a sales market.

The most watched item was the Chinese debut of A Night on Earth, The Finale, the closing release of The Macallan's A Night on Earth series. Its inspiration comes from the music and community culture of New Orleans; the whisky team balanced American and European oak sherry casks, landing on citrus, cream and warm spice, and the packaging was made with local artist Hill Spriggins. Each layer of the display does a different job. The core range makes the brand recognisable, the high-age and award-winning bottles build the case for price and scarcity, and the new release creates the news of the edition, while tastings and masterclasses convert six days of footfall into something that stays with consumers. Francois Saurel, Edrington's managing director for Asia Pacific, said at the opening that six consecutive years of participation confirm the group's commitment to China, and that the three origins are meant to show Chinese drinkers how varied single malt can be. For a spirits group that builds its story around place, that is the argument placed where it belongs: three origins, three characters, one booth that lets a visitor taste the difference rather than read about it.
